A WAY WITH WORDS

We picked up my R250 chest of drawers last night in the mother of all storms! Lightning, thunder, torrential rain – I never thought we would be able to actually get to the place.  The girl lived in a high rise block of flats – her corridor was flooded, and the drawers were heavy!
Thank goodness for lifts and a strong husband!
It now sits happily in our garage waiting for the weekend!
I have always loved words or writing used in decorating.  Whether its words made from rustic wire, words stenciled on wood, old metal signs, beaded words ……. They are all welcome in my world!
My friend in Sweden, Belinda, has used some beaded ones in her spareroom which she bought on her recent visit home, (picture below) and I have bought rusty wire ones from street vendors for my niece in England, as well as a wire 3D one from a decor store.
I did some research yesterday, and came up with the most fantastic ideas.  Makes me want to have a whole wall to “play” with!!
Love this sign in their kitchen - makes it a sunny place!

This whole space is delightful - and the "antique" sign is the cherry on the top!

I am sure this plaque would be easy to make - a few pieces of wood, stencil, paint - and you have a divine work of art!

The colours and old pieces of wood on this wall really do it for me!!! Not only inspirational - but delightful!

Loved this "tongue in cheek" sign. Aren't most sparerooms regarded as hotels? Love it!

This board almost looks like a chalkboard to me - with chalk writing!! Clever if it is!

These letters made up to form a word! Awesome!

This garden area reminds me of my friend Belinda's (Sweden) outdoor area.

Not your average "sign" - but words on anything for me are good!

The words of this song alone make me smile!

I absolutely love this dresser and the finials - not so sure about the "meat market" sign though! Haha! :)

A nice way of displaying your favourite quote or poem!

Too gorgeous for words! Scuse' the pun!

Belinda bought this Carpe Diem sign for a song! Love the fact that it's stained.

These beads are called "African teething beads" - not so sure of the correct African name - but very popular in SA at the moment; beaded words, crosses, animals, necklaces, bracelets, keyrings ......

Another one of Belinda's fantastic finds!
