No excuse.
I write today though, just before the Easter long weekend, and for me – I have an extra day off, tomorrow.
That will be spent with my son. We are doing the mother / son bonding thing. Movies – his choice, breakfast – my choice. After that we will paint his bedroom cupboard doors with blackboard paint, and paint anything else that I can white!
I love LETTERS used in decorating. Old, vintage wooden ones, metal ones, wire ones……. Found at car boot markets, dad’s garage, décor stores, or even just from the chaps who make them and sell them outside supermarkets or on the side of the road.
I have paid anything from R100 for a lovely little “LOVE” 3D wire sign from Con Amore, to R10 for a rusty old wire one, also “LOVE” from the side of the road.
I am now on a quest to find all different kinds of letters, the first letter for each person and animal in our family – that’s 9 letters I am on the lookout for!
I thought I would include some ideas.
I found this on Alibaba's site. The unfortunate thing is, if you want to purchase these signs - you need to place an order for 300 000 units! |
Most definitely my favourite. All the different letters used, different sizes, material, shapes, colours. |
Amazing what letters can be made out of. These all look like they were crafted in dad's garage! |
Husbands initial - H - would look good on my wall too! |
I thought this paper mache letter a real novel idea. I love the colour, and the B - for our cat Bella, and a best friend, Belinda! |
My initial right there! Wish I could pick it off that shelf! |
These are the initials of my niece's partner and her son. She would love both of these I know! |
So this weekend you know I am on the lookout for some letters.
T = TAYNE
H = HILTON
Y = YVETTE
M = MAXI & MANGO
W = WHISKY
B = BELLA
T = TIA
F = FLYMO
R = RED (for the cat we had until recently)
Car boot market on Sunday – hopefully I find one or all 9! That would be a bonus, now wouldn't it?
Have a fabulous Easter everyone –till next week! X
