Hello! Hope you all had a fantastic Easter – and enjoyed your time off. I certainly did.
Well as I mentioned last week, I did get around to painting my son’s bedroom cupboards with blackboard chalk – and it turned out better than expected. I even managed to find thick black handles for the cupboard doors at the car boot market on Sunday – for a mere R4 each.
Tayne is already using his blackboard as a canvas – and loving every minute! I must invest in some coloured chalk for him now.
Talking of the car boot market ……. I did not find one solitary letter! I looked long and hard at every stall, but alas! They are fresh out of vintage letters! I continue my quest to find some.
This week I thought I would share my love of vintage wicker / rattan with you. At the same car boot market on Sunday – I saw the most delightful 2 tier wicker basket stand. Unfortunately it had been painted over a dozen times, and was now the most dreadful strawberry pink – but I had visions of it being white again, and gracing our kitchen or bathroom with its presence. However! It was R80 – which I thought a tad much, and! My husband was tagging me – so I left it behind! I will be back on Sunday – and should it be there – it’s going home with me! Hopefully at a cheaper price too!
Holding thumbs!
So….. here are some gorgeous rattan / wicker finds which I wouldn’t mind having in my home.
Simply love these kists - chic storage! |
I can see our cats using this as a cat basket! |
The vintage basket stand I saw at the carboot market was far nicer than this one, but on the same lines. |
I have rattan diningroom chairs, so these barstools with complete the picture perfectly! |
