ALL DRESSED UP

Whether it’s a Welsh Dresser, Chest of drawers, cabinet, sideboard, or plain old cupboard,  – call it what you like – big, small, short, tall....... finding these storage units for a song and doing them up – has to be the highlight of anyone’s day….. and for me, there’s nothing more rewarding.

I have been after a chest of drawers for literally months now, and scour the on-line classifieds every day, visit the second hand shops every Saturday, and trawl the car boot market every other Sunday.  Needless to say – I hadn’t come across a worthwhile one – that is! Until today! I found one on Gumtree (our local online classifieds) for a paltry sum of R250!  I haven’t decided what I am going to do with it yet, or how I am going to refurb it – but it’s making me happy just thinking about it!

Paying R250 for these drawers is probably a small fortune to my friends and family overseas; my friend Belinda in Sweden manages to find gorgeous ones at the “Loppis’s”, and my niece Celeste finds them every other day for a pound or 3!!!  Her latest find was a cabinet from the dump, and she paid £3.  She’s already sanded it down and painted it. 

I know she has advertised it on eBay, and has a load of people “watching it”. Hopefully it sells for a fortune! She is hoping for around £70.

I have collected pictures over the years of how to decorate with dressers, cabinets etc., and I am happy to share them with you. I hope they inspire you look they have inspired me.  They have been used in every corner, of every room in houses, flats, apartments, cottages and offices.  I LOVE THEM!

Even the smallest little set of drawers is useful, and pretty!
